In the evolving landscape of European organic farming, Ukraine now plays an increasingly strategic role. SeedFuture, with Agribio Ukraine, exports its sustainable business model for the development and enhancement of international organic supply chains. A continuous growth since 2021, for an ambitious project with many long-term goals.

Director Andrei Kaminski is here to tell us about Agribio Ukraine’s entrepreneurial adventure. Trained jurist with a long experience in the cereal trade, he has been dedicated for years to the management of the export of organic products: “My responsibilities include the overall management of all business processes, coordination with the Italian headquarters and the implementation of procurement plans for organic agricultural products grown by certified Ukrainian farmers. My legal training and long experience in the organic sector allow me to manage different complexities, from contracts to negotiation” he explained.

How was Agribio’s project born in Ukraine and what is its current stage of development?

The Agribio project in Ukraine was born in 2021 from a consolidated professional and personal collaboration with Simone Marzari, founder of SeedFuture. Our mission in Ukraine is to collaborate with certified farmers for the supply of oilseeds and organic cereals, also managing contract production, storage in certified warehouses, export operations and the entire logistics chain up to the end customer.

Agribio Ukraine’s team is composed of professionals with consolidated experience in the field of cereal procurement and trading, as well as in logistics and commercial management. We maintain direct and ongoing relationships with Ukrainian organic farmers, optimising supply chains and ensuring profitability for all partners involved.

What are the main product lines and how do Agribio’s production processes guarantee quality and traceability along the entire supply chain?

The core business of the Agribio Group consists of organic oilseeds, in particular sunflower, soybean and rapeseed. The main reference market, located in the countries of the European Union, is the compound feed sector, with the supply of seedcakes and raw organic vegetable oils for the production of feed for livestock and aquaculture. In the last two years, the Agribio Group has also entered the organic food market, with the production of refined and frozen edible oils. Every product and every farmer is certified organic and tracked in a valuable internal database that guarantees an ethical and sustainable approach, from the field to final consumers.

What are the numbers, to date, of the project in Ukraine?

From 2022 to October 2025, the Agribio project in Ukraine managed the export of 26,000 tonnes of organic products to Italy and other European Union countries, for a total value of 8 million Euro. Since 2022, the entire Ukrainian agricultural sector has been put to the test and has faced supply disruptions and closures. Despite the blocks, our sector remains a benchmark so much so that, at the end of 2024, Ukraine ranked third among 123 countries supplying organic products to the EU. According to the European Commission, Ukrainian organic exports to the EU increased by 17.4% in 2024, reaching 203,900 tonnes, or 7.7% of the European Union’s total organic imports.

Agribio Ukraine, an ethical, sustainable model with many long-term goals: what are the future plans?

Today our main goal in Ukraine is to maintain solid relations with organic farmers and ensure stable supplies of products to the European Union through the distribution channels of the Agribio Group. Once the country has reached a condition of stability, we plan to develop advanced processing activities in the organic cereals sector, in particular the processing of oilseeds for the production of products with greater added value, such as seedcakes, vegetable and livestock oils, lecithin and other derivatives, depending on customer needs.

Our goals also include the creation of a network of certified organic farmers in Ukraine, based on direct partnerships, to develop joint cultivation and processing projects, as well as the construction of their own warehouses for the storage and transhipment of goods, in order to scale and optimise exports through different logistics channels.

We also rely on the reconstruction of Ukrainian river port infrastructures, in particular in Kherson and the Black Sea region, where we started our business. This will significantly increase shipping volumes by sea and reduce transport costs.
